A little background about myself.
I am a Los Angeles based photographer and I created this website as a place to display my favorite photographic work that I’ve amassed over the years. I have been shooting since 2008 and I have been involved in digital photo manipulation since 2001. I am self-taught and have no formal training so my methods at times may be unorthodox, however I’m passionate about what I do and I can accomplish whatever I set my mind to. My specialty is animal photography but I enjoy all genres of photography. I’m always learning and trying to improve and expand the range of my work as a whole.
I released my first book at the end of 2019, however, due to costs ($327.29 USD each to print), I created only a single copy!
Soul is a physically massive 100 page (16.5 x 11 inch — full bleed) collection of my animal (general & macro) photography. It turned out well, however, I wasn’t completely satisfied with it. I tried to cram as much of my work into it as possible and in the end I realized that less was more. Regardless, I learned a lot from the experience of what to do and what not to do and I consider it the blueprint for what’s to come. My goal is to have my next book published at a lower cost and placed in as many book stores that I can get it in.
In the meanwhile, It’s important that I consistently create quality content and learn to be a better overall photographer and writer. Photos can at times “speak” for themselves, but sometimes there’s more than meets the eye. I believe writing more about my photography will elevate my work by giving my images greater depth. It’s also imperative that I work on utilizing various social media platforms, because I have a voice in the photography world and it’s time for people to hear it. Which leads to this website. In a society where information is readily and quickly consumed in an easy to access and digest format, I believe traditional websites can be a bit of a “struggle” today for the average viewer to want to view and return to. With saying, J-Stop.com is my baby and I believe my website can serve a purpose, and it’s purpose is to be the heart of my work while social media can be the channel that leads viewers to it. So what services do I currently provide?
1) Image Restoration: old images revamped -i.e. color restoration/correction, repairing cracks, tears, mold spots, stains, loss in detail, etc
($40 per photo — extreme restorations may cost slightly more)
2) Photo Beautification: removing wrinkles, under-eye bags, facial smoothing, pimple/blemish removal, body slimming, enlargement of body parts
, sharpening, de-noising, color correction, image enlargement (upscaling), background removal/replacement, etc.($30 per photo)
3) Fine Art: complete image overhaul -i.e. if you want a photo to really stand out as a unique creative piece.($50 per photo)
- Services 1-3: For best results, provide images at the highest quality (Size/DPI/Scan)
4) Private Shoots: if you’re expanding your portfolio, pet photography, couples photography, or if you simply just want to be photographed. I’m not a portrait photographer but if I can have fun with it I’ll do it.
